10 Car Rental Driving Tips

• We drive on the left hand side of the road in Dominica.
  

• Stick to your side, our roads are relatively narrow and the majority are not marked with a centerline although most of them are two way!
  

• Don't hesitate to honk your car horn at corners with poor visibility.
  

• Get familiar with your road map of Dominica and have a general idea of where you are going before you leave. But do stop to ask for directions, most Dominicans are happy to help!
  

• Gas up!  There aren't that many gas stations across Dominica.
  

• We don't recommend you stop for passengers although crime is negligeable.
  

• Don't drive and sightsee at the same time.  Pullover to admire the view. It's probably worth it.
  

• Give way to oncoming traffic.  It's just safer since our roads are narrow.
  

• Be especially cautious under wet conditions.  Roads in Dominica can be deceivingly slippery.
